The Duchess of Cambridge wears Oscar Sport

Kate Middleton wears Oscar Sport après ski boots

Kate Middleton wears Oscar Sport. In a recent skiing holiday in Switzerland the Duchess of Cambridge, wife of Prince William of England, was photographed wearing a pair of après ski boots made by the Montebelluna-based footwear manufacturer.

The photos were published on the website “What Kate Wore“, set up to study the details of clothing worn by our dear Kate, soon to be a mother, and to help women followers track down the various items of clothing in order to dress like her.

The Duchess, who was also featured in a national newspaper, wears the  Giada model made by Oscar Sport. And in via Cal Trevisana in Montebelluna, the location of the shoe factory, the satisfaction is manifest. «For us it’s a priceless honour» says Francio Breda, owner of Oscar Sport.

«To see Kate Middleton wear a pair of our après ski boots, made with our own hands, fills us with pride. Our work could not be more gratifying».

The Montebelluna-based company is after all an excellent example of “made in Italy“: founded in 1974 by Franco Breda, a talented model maker able to learn from the experience gained with his father Alfonso, over the years has been able to capture a high niche market. To such an extent that recently Oscar Sport has been added to the Veneto Region’s list of “Artistic Craftsmanship”.

Now management of the company, where everything is strictly hand-crafted, also includes the next generation, Oscar and Roberta. The photos of Kate Middleton wearing their ski boots are the crowning achievement of so much hard work in the family tradition.

On the website “What Kate Wore”  and with the sub-heading “Following Kate Middleton Fashions”, there is even a short description of the footwear maker and, by clicking on the name, visitors are taken directly to the Oscar Sport website.

Ultimately a great example of “made in Italy” at a time of economic crisis such as this, from which it can clearly be seen that quality manufacturing can withstand the comparison with delocalisation.
